Logo Design: A+ Resale

This was a freelance work I did for a woman running a business called A+ Resale.

  1. Cool, except for the 'S' getting lost in the black background.

  2. Megan – what a lively color palette, I am assuming because of the colors and the illustrations of children – this is aimed at someone who is offering to turn used children’s cloths/furniture into cash. Since this was actually used, I’ll confine my thoughts to how this could be shown in your portfolio.

Logo: The horizontal design seems to have 2 somewhat separate pieces to it (A+ and Resale with its rule and subheading). In my opinion, it could be unified a bit better than it currently is. Right now I see 2 very separate elements that don’t share any horizontal alignment… but easily could.

But then I see just the large A+ with Re-Sale below it. I vote for using that one in your portfolio. Adding the subhead and its rule stacked at the bottom in 1 or 2 lines might be just the refinement needed. I really think it will be worth your effort to add that logo to your portfolio as the main one.

Because of the young nature of this product line – I would suggest you drop the design on the black background – or rethink that dark color. It does create a readability problem with the darker colors of your logo.

Lastly – the green chalkboard that appears at top left and holds a recycle sign seems to pull our attention away from the logo itself. I wonder if it should actually sit on the right size of the logo – so the logo is the focal point. And, reduce the recycle sign so it sits smaller within the chalkboard. It seems a bit cramped in the space, and is touching the top edge which only serves to pull our attention away, again, from the logo.
