Design Portfolios

1. http://www.bleed.com

2. http://www.mypoorbrain.com

3. http://charlottetang.com

I love all three of these portfolios because they have a clean, organized, image driven look. I feel that a portfolio should have big folders displaying a preview of the work and small buttons so nothing takes away from the designs. Bleed.com is not like the others, it has a lot of text but still has an organized feel. Bleed is very interactive and keeps the viewer scrolling around. These inspire me because when I think of a layout it needs to be organized and clean and all of these portfolios have that and a sense of creativity along with it.

Week 2

I admire the design of these portfolio sites because of the direct way all of the art is shown. They have an organized navigation but the focal point is all of the tiled original work front and center. Another thing I noticed is that they don't have any words to explain the art, the designs speak for themselves which is obviously important in our line of work.

Week 2

https://bert.house/en/
The first portfolio that I found interesting/inspiring is the one from BERT. Bert is a marketing and branding company from the Netherlands. They have worked with Heineken and several other companies to design websites and brands for them. I really like their animated website and its large images.

The second portfolio I really admired was Michael Larcheveque. The home page is all black and white, but if you hover over one of the projects, they become colorful and an animation starts spinning around them. The project pages are good because they have the same grey background as the home, but they feature medium size color photos that are the perfect size for the screen.

I like this site because it is extremely minimalist and there is almost no way to get lost. Everything is a great size, so you can see the whole page at once, and the photos are always front and center. I think this one was my favorite even though it was the most simple.
