Julie – I think the placement is working great for that salamander. However, are you sure it should be quite that large? Try to enlarge the letters (or reduce the salamander) so that the letters of your name dominate the design just a bit more. It still seems to cover up too much of that A, in my opinion.
Colors – Blue and brown. Cool blue against warm brown. Not much unity in the colors here. If blue is where you want to head with this… try using a cool blue/green salamander. Or, try using a warm color for the letters. See what you think when the colors start to have something in common.
